Admission & Financial Aid

If Simmons had not been so flexible in its part-time program, I never would have had the opportunity to go back to school for a second Master's degree. The faculty, the students, and the general atmosphere of the school make Simmons an exciting, intellectually stimulating place to be.

Armenian Social Workers Participate in Training at Simmons School of Social Work

Social Workers from Armenia attended a training with Dr. Emmeline Homonoff and Dr. Sherdena Cofield on June 22. The focus of the training was on Social Work education in the United States. The Armenian visitors work as social workers in various practice settings including child welfare, adoptions, foster care agencies and in medical hospitals.

The visit to Simmons was part of a ten day training funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID) and organized by the Cambridge-Yerevan Sister City Association. Social Work is a relatively new concept in Armenia so participants learned about the overall framework of social work in the United States and the structures for advanced education in this country. The goal of the visit and training was to build partnerships that will support the further development of social work in the Armenia.
